So we were born into the best of it.

A heavy notion softened by a deep rooted instability ~ one that stems from over-exposure to unnecessary riches, too many options and a feeling of being hard done by. It forces one to wonder… if … as we plummet ahead into technological experiments and new age ideals, we will find what we are looking for. For we have created within ourselves a hunger, so deep, it remains unsatisfied. With every new achievement we forget to pause and appreciate… we never bask in the moment anymore. We are always in such a hurry, we don’t even have the time to notice ~

I wonder why… why we roll on at ground breaking speeds and egg each other on, justifying our existence. Like busy is a reason to be proud, like busy determines our worth, our success.

How in the world will we ever feel satisfied if we don’t have time to stop and ask ourselves why we are running so fast?

One response to “busy?

  • glimmerswimmer

It’s a funny notion the need to constantly be “doing” something. Motherhood has helped to force me to reassess this. Though motherhood is a pretty busy ol’ past time itself. Our society certainly gears us up for a life of perpetual motion. What’s that saying….. The problem with the rat race is that after all that running you’re still just a rat? Something like that anyway. Thank you for the timely reminder to make and enjoy the time to be still. To pause, reflect and appreciate.

Got something to say?
